SHAI HULUD Drops Off 'Summer Of Scum' Tour

Pompano Beach, Florida-based metalcore act SHAI HULUD has dropped off the Summer of Scum tour (also featuring FULL BLOWN CHAOS, ELYSIA and WOE OF TYRANTS) "due to a combination of uncontrollable circumstances surrounding the other bands on the package," according to a statement released by the group. "SHAI HULUD will be back out on the road as soon as they can and look forward to seeing all of their rabid fans in the flesh."

"Misanthropy Pure", the new video from SHAI HULUD, can be viewed below. The clip was directed, filmed, and edited by David Brodsky (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, SOILENT GREEN, ARSIS) of MyGoodEye.

Commented Matt Fox, guitarist and founding member of the band: "David and Allie [Woest, Brodsky's partner/producer/sometimes editor/all around right hand] know how to make a professional and effective video. Far be it from us to interfere; we know when we are outclassed. The only thing we expressed was that we didn't want an empty, meaningless video. That's when the idea of incorporating the lyrics came into play. David had some great ideas of how to add the lyrics engagingly. We trusted him to heed our concerns and help us create the best video possible under all our time and logistics constraints. He did just that."

"Misanthropy Pure" is the title track of SHAI HULUD's new album, which was released in May via Metal Blade Records.

Recorded at Silver Bullet Media in CT and mixed by Eric Rachel at Trax East, "Misanthropy Pure" is the group's first offering in over five years.

According to Matt Fox, "It's faster, slower, more metal, less metal, more rock, more progressive, and less progressive than anything we've ever done."

Musically, the album combines hardcore, thrash, punk and metal, and siphons influence from diverse sources, ranging from METALLICA to BURN to TESTAMENT to DEAD KENNEDYS to CIRCLE JERKS.

"We were influenced by YOUTH OF TODAY and TESTAMENT from day one," Fox said proudly of the days before the term "metalcore" even existed.

"Misanthropy Pure" was written and recorded by Matt Fox (guitars),Matt Fletcher (bass),Matt Mazzali (vocals),Andrew Gormley (drums).
